v2.4 · mesdeparts.ch v2.4
This release makes diversions and temporary stops more reliable, clarifies realtime provenance, and targets service alerts more precisely.
More reliable diversions and temporary stops
Journeys supplemented by diversion data keep their canonical identity and actual stop order.
- Missing lines, temporary stops, and non-served calls are integrated in journey order without unnecessarily replacing the base timetable.
Clearer realtime at temporary stops
The app now distinguishes exact-stop GTFS realtime, same-trip-derived GTFS realtime, and OJP diversion estimates.
- Exact-stop and same-trip-derived GTFS realtime appear without ~. Timetable-only and OJP diversion estimates keep ~, and an OJP estimate never replaces exact GTFS realtime.
Better-targeted line alerts
A route-wide alert remains visible at line level without implying that every stop is directly affected.
- Structured stop or trip alerts stay with the correct departure, while route alerts are deduplicated into one line-level notice.
v2.3 · mesdeparts.ch v2.3
This release introduces a new welcome page, improves platforms and alerts in the UI, and makes the timetable experience smoother.
New welcome page
The welcome page now presents mesdeparts.ch, the Swiss domains, and release highlights more clearly.

v1.12.2 · Version 1.12.2
This release refreshes the app icon assets, steadies live board refreshes, and updates the Help guide.
New app icon assets
New installs and refreshed app previews use the new mesdeparts.ch home-screen icon.
- The shortcut icon uses a simpler bus symbol that is easier to recognize at small sizes.
- Existing home-screen shortcuts may keep their old icon until the device refreshes them or the shortcut is re-added.
Steadier live boards
Boards keep recently updated information visible while the next live refresh is loading.
- Recent realtime data stays visible during short refresh interruptions.
- Live updates should feel less abrupt when a refresh arrives late or needs to recover.
Updated Help guide
The Help section now explains common board controls more clearly.
- Search, favorites, filters, and display modes are described in simpler language.
- The guide better separates bus/tram display modes from train board modes.

- This release includes small service improvements.
- The work stays focused on keeping the service tidy and steady.
Reliability checks
Reliability checks continue behind the scenes.
- This release includes ongoing reliability work.
- These changes keep the release intentionally small and careful.
Alerts & UI
Minor UI details were refined, and the way you interact with alerts is smoother.
- Main-board search results now stay attached to the search bar instead of behaving like a fixed screen overlay.
- Alert interactions were cleaned up so opening and reading disruptions feels more direct.
- A few controls, spacing choices, and board details were also polished for a cleaner layout.
v1.11.1 · Smarter platforms, faster trip details, and quieter update notices
This release makes inferred platform labels and direction grouping more consistent, improves several tricky train-board cases, opens trip details faster, and turns versionless update banners into simple info strips.
Smarter platform labels
Inferred platform labels now appear more consistently, and direction groups stay better separated.
- Inferred platform labels now appear more consistently in the Stop column, reducing empty cells.
- Distinct departures stay better separated when multiple services leave the same stop.
Faster trip details
The trip panel opens faster after you tap a departure.
- Trip details appear faster when you open a connection from the board.
- Loading feels smoother, with less waiting before the useful information appears.
Quieter update notices
Versionless update banners are now simple info strips.
- Versionless banners no longer open a big call to action; they stay as plain info messages.
- Update reminders are more subdued and no longer interrupt reading the board for versionless notices.
Train board improvements
Replacement trains, TGV services, and trains with unknown delay are now handled more clearly on the train board.
- During disruptions, replacement train services are more likely to appear correctly instead of leaving only the cancelled original train visible.
- TGV services now stay visible more reliably on the train board.
- Trains without confirmed delay evidence are no longer labelled by default as having an unknown or indeterminate delay.
v1.11 · Smarter platforms, shareable boards, scheduled timetables, and clearer live cues
This release shows inferred platform labels in the Stop column, improves direction grouping accuracy, keeps active filters in shareable links and saved favorites, adds a scheduled timetable mode for any chosen date and time, and makes live confidence indicators clearer.
Platform labels & grouping
Stops without explicit platform data now show an inferred label (A, B, C) in the Stop column. Direction grouping is also more accurate.
- Stops without an explicit platform number now show an inferred label (A, B, C) in the Stop column. These labels were previously computed but never surfaced.
- Direction grouping is more accurate: distinct services now correctly get their own label instead of being absorbed into a dominant group.
- Inferred labels (A, B, C) are assigned consistently based on direction grouping — the same label always refers to the same direction cluster.
- The Stop column now shows platform information for a wider range of stops, reducing the number of blank entries.
Saved & shareable boards
Active filters now sync to the URL and are preserved when saving a favorite. Shared links restore the filter on load and always resolve to the correct station.
- Changing the platform or line filter now updates the page URL in real time. Sharing or bookmarking the URL while a filter is active will correctly restore it on load.
- Station group IDs are now correctly preserved in shared links — previously some links could resolve to a raw stop ID instead of the grouped station.
- Saving a favorite while a filter is active now preserves that filter. Tapping the favorite later restores the station with the saved filter applied.
- Line number chips in the filter panel now share the same visual style as platform chips — consistent size, border, and font weight.
- The filter state is preserved across page reloads — refreshing the board restores the same filter without any extra step.
- Switching between stops no longer clears active filters; the current filter is preserved and applied to the new station view.
Scheduled timetable mode
Open a planned board for any chosen date and time.
- A date and time picker lets you open a scheduled board showing planned departures for any point in the future.
- The scheduled-mode view is clearly marked so you always know you are looking at planned timetable data, not live departures.
- A single button returns you to live mode at any time without resetting your station or filters.
- Filters applied before entering scheduled mode are preserved when you switch back to live.
- The mode indicator updates in the header so the board state is always unambiguous.
Clearer live confidence
Estimated departures and inferred platforms are now easier to understand.
- Departures marked as estimated — based on scheduled data rather than confirmed live updates — now display a distinct visual indicator.
- Inferred platform labels (A, B, C) have a clearer style that distinguishes them from confirmed platform numbers.
- The tap target for inferred platform labels is larger and more reliable on touch screens.
- These indicators reduce ambiguity so you can judge whether to rely on the displayed time or platform.
v1.10.7 · More reliable departures, refined trip details, and better readability
This release improves realtime departure reliability, reduces cases where a vehicle could disappear too early, refines the trip-details panel, and improves readability on small screens. Operator labels are more compact and line grouping is more consistent.
More reliable live departures
Departures stay visible longer and adapt more gracefully when live data is incomplete.
- Live departures are more consistent: cases where a vehicle could disappear too early are handled more reliably.
- Data stays up to date more effectively even when live information is incomplete or temporarily unavailable.
Refined trip details
The trip panel opens more cleanly, with a clearer loading state and a more readable journey timeline.
- The loading state and visual hierarchy of the details panel are clearer when it opens.
- The journey timeline is easier to follow and transitions between stops feel smoother.
Better mobile readability
Narrow screens have more vertical breathing room and the table adapts more cleanly on small displays.
- Narrow screens now have more vertical breathing room, making the board less dense and easier to read.
- Labels and the table adapt better on small screens without losing essential information.
Clearer operator labels
Operator names show short abbreviations and line grouping is fairer across stops.
- Operator names now show short abbreviations where appropriate, freeing up space on the board.
- Line grouping is more consistent and fairer, including at smaller stops.
v1.10.6 · Easier live reading, a refined header, and clearer updates
This release makes the board easier to read day to day: imminent departures show up earlier, live-data status is clearer, the main header feels more polished, and automatic refresh behavior is easier to understand.
Imminent departures
Departures that are about to leave are now easier to catch at a glance.
- The flashing live arrival icon now appears earlier before departure, making near-immediate departures easier to notice.
- Behavior stays consistent across single and dual boards, without changing the rest of the countdown.
- The board keeps the same overall rhythm, with a more useful visual signal once departure becomes truly imminent.
Clearer live data
It is easier to tell whether live data is up to date or simply unchanged.
- Live status now better distinguishes a true update delay from cases where the data simply has not changed.
- Whether live data is healthy, limited, or getting stale, that status is now presented more consistently and explicitly.
- Result: live indicators are less ambiguous when the board stays stable but realtime service is still running normally.
Cleaner header
The top of the board is cleaner, with better stop-name wrapping and tidier mobile spacing.
- A very subtle `mesdeparts.ch` signature now sits under the clock to anchor the board's identity without pulling focus.
- Comma-based stop names now break more cleanly between town and stop name, which improves readability on narrow screens.
- A few spacing details were also adjusted to keep the mobile layout cleaner without changing board content.
Easier refreshes
When the board stays the same, it is clearer that there was simply nothing new to show.
- Automatic refresh checks stayed consistent in the tested cases.
- In the checks we ran, no visible late live-update issue was reproduced.
- The result is a simpler explanation for moments when the board stays unchanged because there is simply nothing new to show.
v1.10.5 · Faster search, more accurate timing states, and cleaner UI
This release focused on making search much faster, improving timing-state accuracy, and refining first-run and board interactions without changing the broader search contract or weakening matching quality.
Search & availability
Stop search is now faster and more reliable, availability is handled better, and misleading labels are gone.
- Stop search now responds much faster after you start typing.
- Availability is handled better, misleading labels were removed, and broad matching with typo tolerance, aliases, and fallback behavior was preserved.
- Search stays fast without weakening result quality.
Delay and early-state accuracy
Delay and early states now track the real underlying time difference more accurately.
- Delay and early labels are now based on the real underlying time difference instead of rounded display minutes.
- This avoids cases where a vehicle could appear delayed too early just because the visible minutes were rounded up.
- The same threshold handling is now aligned across the single board, dual board, bus alerts, and visible status labels.
Onboarding and default-stop flow
The welcome flow is cleaner, version-aware, and keeps your saved default stop.
- The onboarding modal now reappears once per app version without forgetting your saved default stop.
- The old remember-checkbox flow was simplified into a clearer “Make default” action.
- The onboarding copy and layout were also refined for a cleaner first-run experience.
Alerts & UI
Minor UI details were refined, and the way you interact with alerts is smoother.
- Main-board search results now stay attached to the search bar instead of behaving like a fixed screen overlay.
- Alert interactions were cleaned up so opening and reading disruptions feels more direct.
- A few controls, spacing choices, and board details were also polished for a cleaner layout.
v1.10.4 · Smoother mobile tables, clearer labels, and stronger live tracking
This release makes the departures table much easier to read on mobile, improves labels and wrapping across languages, strengthens RT/live tracking, and keeps both the What's new history and the project docs easier to browse.
Smarter departures table on mobile
On small screens, the table now shares space more intelligently between destination, departure, platform, minutes, info, and the line badge.
- Width is rebalanced more intelligently between destination, departure, platform, minutes, and info on narrow screens.
- The far-right info column gives back space sooner, keeping the table cleaner on very small phones and slightly wider responsive widths.
- Right-side columns stop crowding together as early, so compact rows stay readable longer.
- Line alerts now sit directly on the badge, reducing wasted width and keeping the column steadier without losing visibility or access.
Labels, headers, and wrapping work better
Full labels stay when they fit, compact ones appear only when needed, and destinations wrap more cleanly.
- Header labels now adapt better in French, English, German, and Italian.
- The minutes header is now consistently shown as Min in every language.
- Italian compact layouts received extra polish, including cleaner Corsia / Cors. platform labels and a more readable Anticipo early-status note.
- Destination wrapping now prefers cleaner break points such as commas, slashes, and dashes.
Live tracking and freshness improved
Freshness tracking and several delicate live cases are now more robust.
- Freshness is now tracked more clearly between live data arriving and the board showing it.
- Live tracking was made more reliable around source details, timestamps, and some transition or flicker cases.
- Several real samples from Lausanne Bel-Air also helped clarify how updates behave in live conditions.
Help history and RT/live polish
The What's new archive is easier to browse, the docs are mapped more clearly, and a few maintenance refinements keep everything steadier.
- The missing 1.10.2 notes were restored in the release history.
- The Help archive shows older releases more cleanly with less scrolling.
- Project documentation was clarified, and a few maintenance fixes keep updates steadier too.
